Warm Spring Days in Colorado
June 9, 2014 - In the afternoon, I biked up Chalk Creek Canyon (starting below Cascade Falls) and made it to St. Elmo. The conditions perfect: a sunny day with a bright blue sky and everything lush and green. On this page are my photos of the mountains and buildings in the area. There are also four amateur-made videos at the bottom.

Alpine Lake, Colorado

The first pictures I snapped were at the curve with the overlook of Alpine Lake.

Look at that blue sky!
And the mountains.
And those aspens.

By the way, be alert and careful when driving here, as there is no guardrail. If you happen to slide off the road, your car will tumble and tumble and tumble ... and you'll be lucky to be alive to tell about it.

St. Elmo General Store My bike in front of the St. Elmo General Store.
Squirrel The chipmunks! Tourists were feeding the chipmunks during my visit.

By the way, I'm told the critter in this image is a squirrel. There are both squirrels and chipmunks who are begging for food among those wooden planks.

St. Elmo, Colorado A wonderful mountain shot.
Mountains I hiked down to Chalk Creek which was flowing generously from the spring run off. Such a beautiful mountain, isn't it?
